Hey gang, it’s day seven, and it’s a big day because today’s the boating Olympics! This morning, Marinne and Chloe made the best scrambled eggs and blueberry muffins, which were so soooo good. After eating breakfast, we discussed the game plan for the day, which consisted of sailing and the boating Olympics. We got our PFDs on and got to sailing, where Mimi and a few others got to steer while Maddie, more members of the squad, and I got to help a little around the boat. We did some downwind sailing and got to do some wing on wing, which is when one of our sails is let out on one side while the other is let out on the other side. Once we got to our destination, we rafted with a fellow action quest boat called Odyssey and started preparing for the boating Olympics. We got our hands on the other boat and used colorful zinc sunscreen to decorate our faces. After that, we were given a fire pep talk, and Natalie got us HYPED. We sang Hoist the Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean as we rode the dinghy to shore. We were ready, chanting and singing, prepared to take the W… which did not happen, but I digress.
The first thing was a tug of war; then it was a relay race where Yoyo got absolutely tackled. He was fine, though. Finally, we did a match where two people from different boats got on a paddle board and wack each other with pool noodles till one fell. At this time, we hadn’t won a single game, but we knew who we had to send up…. GEORGE!!! We thought he was the perfect man for the job since he’s always doing backflips and other crazy things, so we sent him up. He gets on the board and immediately flies off and spins five times in the air before falling into the water. So maybe we technically took the L, but we left with spirits high. While dinner was being made, Drew and Jace were making jokes about cobra Kai while others took showers. After dinner, which was absolutely business, we got to know some of the people on the other boat, Odyssey. Hannah, some of the others, and I got to know this one guy, Tomas, who was super chill, and we all had a dance party with him before it was study time, where we learned more about the boat and had a heated review game. After a long day of sailing, competing, and learning, we ended the day by all huddling up and watching some cobra kai. That’s it, y’all, peace.
