Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
We started the day by immediately getting underway. We sailed from Leverick Bay to Salt Island, which took around four hours. On the way, we had French toast for breakfast, made by our wonderful cooks, Addy and Arthur. Dillon was at the helm while Zoe helped raise the sail, but he soon switched out with Sloane. There were a lot of good talks during the downtime of sailing. Ellis talked about volleyball, and Gabe talked about video games. Once we arrived on Salt Island at noon, we had sandwiches for lunch. Ellory even shared her gum with the boat. Soon after, we kitted up for our dive. The Neptune’s did a deep dive to around 80 feet, while the Dolphins did an underwater photography dive. While on the deep dive, we got to see how physics work differently underwater by witnessing an egg yolk stay intact and able to bounce it off our fingers. After that, Maya, Kennedy, and I (Breckyn) sat up top and listened to Perry, one of the Dolphin instructors, give a talk about Palaeoceanography (the study of ancient oceans). Evening rolled around, and we tried to raft with another boat called Baba Jaga, but unfortunately, the anchors wouldn’t allow us. Instead, we anchored in a shallow spot with crystal clear waters. We took our saltwater showers while dinner cooked. Our cooks made a delicious chicken Caesar salad with corn and rice. We then ate dinner to a gorgeous sunset. After, we all talked about our favorite movies/ TV shows and niche interests. Now, we’re getting ready for one last dive chat before going to bed for a good night of rest.
