Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we started off by sailing away from the dock to go snorkeling! While we were sailing, most of us were sitting on the trampoline – William and Lulu got soaked from the waves, splashing them through the tramp. Because I was skipper today, I (Teddy) was able to steer the boat. After a hardy lunch, we began our swim test. After William lapped everybody, we started our treading water/float test. Finn surpassed expectations by swimming with his hands in the air for the entirety of the ten-minute period. Oskar and Zander were on the opposite side of the spectrum, sneakingly hiding air pockets in their shorts and shirts for optimal buoyancy efficiency.
After we all passed our swimming test, we started real-world training with some snorkeling. Some of the highlights were when Payton ventured into the dark cave we were exploring, and Payton, Georgina (Lanie), and Bear (Lily) found a beautiful sea turtle. After we finished snorkeling, we went onto the boat that had the snorkel gear, but right after we got on the boat, the rain started to pour extremely hard. We even saw lightning. We couldn’t go back to our boat because of the lightning, so while waiting for the storm to pass, Eres and Ellerey made two friends from the boat we were on. These were the highlights of our day!
