Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
Day 13 started off with some more cereal for breakfast. After Kate, Drew, and Lyla finished up in the dishy pit, we were getting ready for another rotation day. Our first rotation started off with some water sports. I, unfortunately, am still out of commission, so I still am out of the water. The rest of the group, though, really started to get the hang of everything. Hays, in particular, managed to do 28 360s in a row on the kneeboard! Thomas also crushed it on the wakeboard as well. Our next rotation was some more diving. Everyone finished up learning everything it takes to be a diver on confined water 3. The great thing about musk melon bay is the amazing scenery and calm water for water sports.
The only problem was there were so many jellyfish. Meredith was unfortunately stung and had to end her dive early. This spot was also the first time we could go to depths of nearly 60ft. After the dive, everyone was hungry, so we headed back to the boat for some lunch which was PBandJ. After a much-needed break on Shamwari, we headed off to Avizia for paddle boarding and sailing. No one really was invested in that today, so we had a chill day on Avizia and got to know the people on their boat a little better. There were so many jellyfish around the boat we were able to catch one with a bucket. The kids on Avizia are a really cool group of people, and we plan to see them more. We then headed back to the boat for sail chats and to get ready for the bbq on the beach. Of course an hour before the beach party, it poured rain on the way over. We made the best of it, and Claire and Drew helmed us in expertly in the storm, met with a rain dance party to Rihanna’s umbrella. It was a blast. Luckily it dried up in time to take the dinghy to the beach. The party was super fun, and it was great to see the whole action quest fleet. Nothing can be perfect, though, because Evan was pooped on by a seagull. Other than that, it was an amazing night. For dinner, there were burgers, hot dogs, potato and pasta salad, baked beans, and cookies. The fun isn’t over because tomorrow is another rotation day. Overall, it was a day of fun, laughs, and great memories. We finished sail chat early, so we got to have a cozy movie night tonight, which was so fun.
