Today was definitely a memorable one! We started off the day with a yummy breakfast of pancakes and fruit, and lemonade mixed with iced tea. As soon as the last dish was put away, the Vivo Libre “bros” were stepping into our fins and beginning our first open water dive. Although we only scratched the surface of scuba diving at 26 feet, we saw some pretty amazing wildlife. Both groups of “bros” scuba diving saw a baby sea turtle, several horned fish, a couple cow fish and tons of coral. It was truly awesome being down in the ocean, it was a completely different world separate from ours. After emerging from our brief dive we hopped into one of our two dinghies, Phoenix, and went to practice our B.O.B , “bro” overboard plan of action. One of the staff members threw a fender with a bucket attached together by a rope overboard, and the entire group of “bros” would maneuver the boat, lines, and mast to properly execute the man (bro) overboard procedure. When I drove the boat, for the first time, I was proud of my team’s and my work when we got the “bro” on the first try. The rest of the day consisted of Picoing, snorkeling, a navigation lecture, and intense swimming contests. This day was incredible and I felt our entire crew grow closer than we already were! I didn’t think it was possible! Anyway, now we are having AQ’s version of a Thanksgiving feast!
