5:45, Celeste woke up and was a huge help raising the sails on the morning voyage through the rocky waves to Anegada. Katie said, “Hearing the anchor go thud thud thud woke me up.” The waves were very crazy on our sunrise sail to Anegada. Charly sailed us around Anegada for a bit at the helm. By 9:00, we were having delicious French toast with many toppings, cheffed up by Maggie and Bea. This fueled us up for our epic loss at the beach Olympics. Although I did get second place in the Fender float…not that it counted. Aidan was a beast during the paddle board noodle fighting event and cracked the other opponents to the ground. We tried our best, and even when other teams got hurt, we persevered and pushed through the competitions, almost winning our tug of war against a very buff other team. Xander attended the rudder steering us for the first few bits of the day. Erich was very informative on sailing and is providing a wealth of knowledge that he learned from being a sailing instructor. Cahan was very speedy during a beach Olympic event. He and four others, Charly, Xander, Sophie, and Bea, dug a hole under an ore and then had to crawl under it and climb into a boat covered in soap. Sand went flying. Kaya “won on Cahan’s shoulders during chicken fights.” We finished our last PADI video and ate delicious risotto and chicken Cesar salads made by James. Great day! We can’t wait for tomorrow.
