Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

‘Twas a fine morning being woken up to instructor Cara’s weird, funky music. It was an easygoing first 3 hours until we left Sommer’s Bay. We met up with ships Pure Joy and Good Times for our Turtle Tagging. Instructors Kyler and Cara gave a brilliant demonstration on the art of tagging a Turtle, which helped us learn more about Sea Turtle behavior. Kyler took a dinghy and dragged me, Will, Sean, Paloma, Maya, Lucy, and Megan. Cara took Katie, Reese, Parker, and Mason. Although, in the end, no turtles were tagged, it was a good team-building exercise.

Everybody was very tired after searching, so we enjoyed some of the finest chicken quesadillas we’d ever had. Afterward, we headed to our dive spot of the day at Shark Point. The Dolphins had a research dive, and the Neptunes had a free dive. Megan saw a Spotted Moray, and Katie explored every nook and cranny. The Dolphin groups got to type up the beginnings of their research projects. To end the day, we sailed to Cane Garden Bay to refill on water, where we stayed for the night. Tonight’s dinner was the one and only Curry Night prepared by chefs Maya and Will. As a treat, we had our first movie night, watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. (Also, our camera died, so sorry for the lack of interesting pics)
