We woke up this morning to a Pirates of the Caribbean remix to get us in the race day mood 😉 before powering up on a bowl of cereal. Clemmie and Annika attended a skippers’ meeting to prepare for the race; the boys had done most of the work last night, though, charting with James to gain optimum stats and a foolproof route. We got geared up and set off, expertly pioneered by Eva. During the race, we had a run-in with Nómada Caribeña, which ended in a big food fight! Let’s just say the boat has smelled better… we finished in a respectable 3rd place of 6 boats. We then got some shore time at the place our AQ journey began, Soper’s Hole, our main purpose? Stocking up on eggs and DR pepper to fuel Lucy’s addiction. Jerry and Tom, between them, sported 48 eggs, with Clemmie and August collecting ammo from a nearby fruit tree. Unfortunately, race two was cancelled due to the high winds. Annika was DEVASTATED! But despite motoring to our next destination, the eggs were put to good use with Glad to be here attacking us, and us retaliating. After some power naps and choppy waves, Madi and Sadie made dinner of chili and rice while the clean-up job began. The eggs were everywhere. But a lot of scrubbing and deckie-bucketing later… and Oryx is looking dapper. Now it’s time for ocean showers and an early night before diving the Rhòne shipwreck early tomorrow morning!
