Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today started bright and early, so we could get on our way to Great Harbour Peter. While underway, we enjoyed some yogurt, bagels, and fresh fruit that we received at the port yesterday. After raising the sails, we began completing the last three chapters of our rescue diver manuals, along with catching up on our EFR manuals and SAT workbook for Ozzie.
Once we arrived at GHP, we chowed down on some deli sandwiches and PBJ. After we munched, we kitted up and prepared for our second search and recovery dive. For this dive, we practiced an expanding square pattern and used lift bags again. While the entire boat was highly successful in their skills, Lainey and I were especially epic.
After all the buddy groups surfaced from the dive, Chloe and Jaden swam for a bit, and Josh went for a snorkel around the anchorage. This afternoon, we enjoyed a siesta fiesta. I found peace in lounging in the water in the pool float I brought. Daisy and Lainey swam with me for a little bit before joining Sally in a nap. Daisy awoke first, and she kapranked Sally by drawing on her foot, which caused her to suddenly wake up from her deep slumber. While this was going on, Jaden, Teddy, Edward, Josh, and James played card games.
This evening, we traded Papa Matt for Jake, the skipper of Good Times, so he could help us move across the anchorage to join the rest of the dive side in a four-boat raft. I enjoyed having Jake over as we nostalgically hit some Tokyo Drifts, where I controlled the throttles, and he was at the helm. We also blasted a favorite song of mine, Hug Me by Pharrell.
Once we rafted, Ozzie and Daisy whipped up some delicious Mexican food for dinner. During dinner, both Sally and I were able to ask our skipper questions, as we missed yesterday’s for the bbq. Now we are all hanging out in the salon, playing games. Later tonight, we will watch the rest of our rescue videos and hopefully get to know shipmates from the other boats in the dive side fleet.
