Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Our day started with a sudden wake-up to Christmas music for Christmas in July. As Will and I set off on a Skipper meeting to discuss the upcoming practice race, the rest of the boat scarfed down an oatmeal breakfast. After Will and I returned and briefed the boat on the upcoming race, we assigned jobs for the race. With Sadie at the helm and George winching the main sheet, Natalia and Philippe raised the main sheet in record time. Then Sloane opened the furling line, and Stella and Townes pulled out the jib, and we were off. Even after starting in eighth place, Sadie weaved through our competition to shoot up into fourth place with a tight finish against Meow or Never, which ended with us finishing on top. Up next was shore time and a lunch in West End. At one o’clock, we set off for Peter Island. The sail started off with our halyard getting stuck around a light on the mast and waves making us feel like we were on a roller coaster. Eventually our halyard came unstuck with Sadie and Will sweating it. After finally reaching Peter Island, we anchored and started our ocean showers. Maddie, Bodin, and Juliet flipped off the side of the boat. While George and Philippe dove to the bottom. Will, Aiden, and Zoe realized that we ran out of fresh water and couldn’t rinse off. Will shuttled people over to Meow or Never to finish cleaning off. On our return, Philippe and Jack started cooking our breakfast for dinner. Our day came to a close with perfectly cooked eggs and sausages as well as biscuits and beans. The day came to a close with the end in sight, waiting for and exiting the last three days.
