Location: Marina Cay

This morning, the boat woke up bright and early to the symphony of I Like to Move It Move It from Madagascar. After we were all up, we ate a breakfast of cereal and quickly picked up anchor to the motor to the Dogs. Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a sea turtle and a rainbow! Lizzie, Player, Jake, and Claire hopped in the dinghy and went over to the dive boats, where they led their second group of Open Water students. Meanwhile, Daisy, David, and I went on a tank run. After this, I, along with Sedona and Kai, kitted up and hopped into the water to complete more of our skills with India. We all did really well, scoring really high on all of them! Sally, Daisy, Josh, and David used their study time very wisely, taking comprehensive (and beautiful) notes on the DM manual. Once our boat was reunited, we kitted up to refresh and practice our rescue skills. After Stich and India were successfully rescued, we ate a delicious lunch of Mac and Cheese. This was definitely some of the best Mac I’ve had at AQ, and I think it was due to Daisy’s incredibly hard job of having to boil the water and Jake’s master mixing skills. After lunch, we all had a great time jumping off the top of the boat… the dinghy boat :). We were all doing epic tricks and swimming around for a little bit, which was super fun. We reviewed the final chapter of our DM manual. However, it was hard to focus, as we were paranoid that a surprise rescue scenario would ensue at any moment. Many of us were left humbled as there was no scenario, and the open water students onboard knew more answers to our review questions than we did. Later on, we motored over to Marina Key, where we would be spending the night. Underway, some of us napped, played cards, snacked, and enjoyed each other’s company.

Sedona, David, Sally, and I enjoyed playing Spit. Lizzie was also teaching us how to play Euchre. Josh and Jake cheffed up a delicious Thanksgiving meal, which I am very thankful, or GRAYTFUL, for as this is one of my favorite meals! After dinner, we squeezed, and we all shared our favorite holiday. Some of my favorite answers were Sally’s, with her answer being “my birthday,” along with Player and Ayden’s, as their answer of the 4th of July was paired with an eagle squawk to show their patriotism. Once we cleaned up, we grabbed our dive gear and dinghied to shore. We had the opportunity to do a skills dive in the swimming pool of a local resort. This was a unique experience, but the best part was our debrief in the jacuzzi. Overall, today was really fun, and it was nice to have more downtime to hang out.

We miss and love everyone at home! Lots of love!
Anzie 🙂
