Location: The Bight, Norman Island

Today we woke up to the beautiful sound of Riley’s voice on our boat. We went over the day’s schedule. All of the non-advanced sailors practiced their tacking and jibing techniques. Mia, Im Im, Tati, Walker, JJ, and Jackson all had a great time. Ellery Juni, Evan, and I played spike ball downstairs during the training because we already had our certifications, and it was quite fun. Afterwards, we went over our training on man overboard. Jackson took the helm, and Ellery, Mia, and Im Im were pointing at the buoy, which was overboard, to keep track of its location. Juni and I assisted with putting the jib away. Evan and Walker encouraged us. Overall, we did the man overboard drill pretty successfully and quickly. Later, towards the day, we went to the capital of Tortola, Road Town. JJ and Tati got sushi and enjoyed it very much, as did Jackson and Ellery. Walker and I got delicious French food. Evan had a burger, and Im Im and Mia joined him. They all said they missed some good ol’ American food. We used our phones to call our friends. Juni and I caught up with our old friends from last year. Today was our first time seeing the other boats, so it was very nice to see new people. We ended the day by writing letters to all of our fellow boatmates and the staff.
