Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

It’s rotation day! Today we woke up, and it was super hot, so we went outside to find thousands of little bugs chillin on the hard top. After yesterday’s intelligent purchase of lucky charms and cinnamon toast crunch (thanks to Emma and Sky :), we ate luxuriously. Our first activity was hiking! We then had a wet entry after driving on the boat into the shore and went on a small (large) hike. Everyone was in flip flops and Birkenstocks, and Mimi took a few spills due to sand and rocks (cactuses were gnarly). Those of us who brought go pros or cameras of any kind got some great shots (and vlogs, obv) of the ocean from the island. On our descent down the hill, we went to a small beach that had great coral formations and gorgeous blue water. After we got back to the right side of the beach, we attempted to wade through the water to dinghies but quickly realized the bottom was strewn with small sea urchins. We all made it safely to the boat and were able to start our new rotation of the day: paddle boarding. We all got to the boat with the boards and were pumped to swim after our 45-50 minute hike. We all dove into the water and tanned, jumped off the port side of the boat, and Leo tried to do yoga on the board (he was successful). Maggie got a great tan and managed not to burn, but Declan got pretty badly burned on his back after we had a paddle board flipping war. Then some of us went paddle boarding. Out further than just at the boat. Emma and I paddled over to the family dog (Tyler), and he didn’t see us :(. It was lunchtime after swimming and paddle boarding, and we had chicken tortillas.

After fueling up, we went to do water sports. Mimi and Maddie did the kneeboard, and Maggie continued to tan on the front of the dinghy. Then it was dive Time, and we moved the boat into deeper water so that we could see more fish and coral. Armaan saw a stingray with the people doing fish id and boat diver requirements. Everyone saw some cool fish, and then we took a shower (Maren was living her best life while showering because she was just floating on her back and enjoying the sunset). Then we picked up and moved to Vixen, where we rafted with a meow or never, and Frosty became really good friends with all of the boys by showing them his doo rag. Then we had dinner and sail chat, and we all can’t wait to talk with our parents tomorrow when we get our phones!
