Today was our first rotation day! We woke up at 7:00 in the morning at Mt. Point. We quickly got breakfast ready, which was scrambled eggs and blueberry muffins that Declan and Frosty made. We ate and quickly got ready to go diving which was our first rotation. We all got refreshers on how to set up our dive kits and were divided into groups for the dive. One group was me, Armaan, Maggie, Mimi, and Frosty. We were with Mackenzie. The other group who was with Ian was Leo, Declan, Maddie, and Maren. We were also reminded of the acronym for buddy checks BWARF B-BCD, W-weights, A-air, R-releases, and F-final checks. We then jumped into the water and reviewed two main skills, recovering our regulators and de-flooding our masks. We swam around exploring the water of Mt. Point. We then came back up and de-kitted.

For our second rotation, we learned boating knots. Some of the knots we learned were the figure eight, the clove hitch, and the bowline. After learning all our knots, we had a race to see which group could tie the clove hitch the fastest. Afterward, we had lunch which was sandwiches. After lunch, we had our third rotation, which was sailing zests which are small sailboats that fit 2-3 people. While we weren’t testing, we swam around the boat and jumped off the side. After sailing around for a while, we were picked up by two dinghies for our fourth and final rotation. We went waterskiing, kneeboarding, and waterboarding. After driving around for a while, we went back to the boat for wakeboarding and ocean showers. After showering, we moved the boat to a nearby cove to sleep. We ate dinner, which was hotdog Alfredo pasta, and as we were in the middle of the dishy pit, the councilors swam over and stole another boat’s dinghy, which then resulted in a small prank war. Now we are getting ready for dive chat, and we are really excited about the baths and Spanish town tomorrow.
P.S. – Pics from today will be coming tomorrow!
