Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
We started the day by devouring our breakfast burritos, then headed to the salon for a two-hour sail chat. Our skipper Gabe taught us collision regulations, lights, and how to navigate using a compass and a chart during the chat. Then we dinghied over to the dive boat to work on completing our open water certification. Underwater we practiced sipping air while purging, taking off our weight belts, and swimming with our mask on. After putting our scuba gear away we had soup for lunch, then went waterskiing, kneeboarding, and wakeboarding. For our last water activity for the day, we sailed the new Zests. This was our favorite activity because it took a lot of adjustments to the boom, rudder, and the mainsheet to go around the course without capsizing. Our day ended with salt water showers followed by a chicken caesar salad and the squeeze, where we discussed our days and what our favorite foods are.
