Today I was woken up at 3:00 in the morning by pouring rain and Xander and Savannah rushing me inside. Thankfully there was an empty floor and a free hammock for the three of us to use as new beds. After we went back to bed, we were woken up around 7:30 am, and we got breakfast, which was oatmeal, and then we all went to the trampoline and got our dive gear set up and ready. We then went to our first dive spot, but it was too busy, so we ended up sailing to another dive spot named Coral Gardens. It was super pretty, and there was a ton of colorful coral and some really cool fish. My favorite sighting on that dive was this really cool piece of brain coral I found on top of a rock. On this dive, we practiced neutral buoyancy and maintaining proper trim. It was a little tricky at first, but by the end, I thought I was maintaining my trim very well. After we surfaced and got all of our gear off, we filled tanks and sailed to our next dive site. This second site was called Flintstones. This site was against a big rock wall and was the deepest dive yet at 60 feet.
At this site, we saw a sting ray that Pat thinks was a Caribbean Whip Tail Ray, and we also saw a spiny lobster carcass and Pat’s second favorite angel fish, the Queen Angel Fish. Along with all these exciting sites today from diving, it was also Sofia’s first dive on the trip, which was very exciting. After our dives, we set up for dinner, which was burgers. Thanks to the cooks, Sofia and Olivia, because the dinner was fantastic. After dinner, we did a squeeze, and everybody said their favorite part of the day; my question for everyone was, what would you eat if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life? My favorite part of the day was how well I coiled one of the dock lines, and the food I would eat if I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life would be butter chicken(I know you’re surprised, dad). And that was our day.
