Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

Today was very fun, but it all started with the wonderful smell of French toast being cooked by Ellie and Moseley. I came down below after sleeping in my hammock on the roof, seeing everyone put away their sleepy sacks and pillows. During breakfast, Quin gave me some Nutella and made the french toast just so much more delicious than it already was. At about 9:30, we set sail from the dock we were sleeping at and started the man overboard drill. My group was Moseley, Hellen, and myself, and we were working very well together, pulling out the main sail and jib sail, doing some basic tacking and gybing trying to get those key maneuvers down. And we were successful, and then we started the main drill Man Over Board. Margaux threw a fender overboard, and then we took action turning into the wind and screaming MAN OVER BOARD!!. Mac would pull in the dingy, and then Hunter and Gabe hopped in the dingy to get our missing fender. After that, I got to take an exam, so I was studying with some of the other students on my boat. We had a wonderful lunch cooked by Amanda, and then I had one last dive before I was completely certified in open water. My group – Skyann, Moseley, and then other kids from another boat – was crushing all of the different skills. And now I’m certified in first-level open water by Amanda. We went over to the beach to hang out. I was swimming with Hunter, Megan, Scottie, Megan, and Sovo. And then we had to shower, and Zora was showing us some of the cool tricks she learned from the circus. The dishey pit was set out, but we lost a Tupperware Skyann saved the day diving in getting it before it was lost to the sea. That was another beautiful day in the BVI’s.
