Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today we woke up at 7:30 am, all opening our tired eyes to a whiteboard with the words “Last day on the water” written broadly as daylight. For most of us, this statement hasn’t fully set in, but as the night has progressed, we’ve been coming to terms with it. This morning we enjoyed some delicious pancakes made by Kathryn and Annabelle, with Aloha rafted to us enjoying the same breakfast. Right after we finished cleanup, the Neptune students did “Dinghy School,” as coined by Jake, and also enjoyed some morning wakeboarding. Meanwhile, the Dolphins enjoyed a very interesting coral ecology discussion led by Anna, followed by a calming snorkel over the reef with the Neptunes joining in. Finishing off our morning activities, we made our way to Road Town for some lunch and phone time. To keep the tradition going, most of the Good Times shippies buddied up with our friends on Aloha to go eat. After making our way back to the dock to be picked up by Jake on the dinghy and taken back to the boat, we sailed to The Bite for a cave snorkel, where we also saw a magnificent Spotted Eagle Ray, which was the highlight of everybody’s day honestly. After snapping some pictures and snorkeling back to the boat, we made our way around the corner to meet with the other ActionQuest vessels for dinner. Annabelle and Kathryn cleverly substituted the eggs in our cornbread for apple sauce which was a fun twist on the usual for the night. Following, Joey put rope bracelets on everybody’s wrists or ankles, and we settled down for the night to write our appreciation cards to all our fellow ship members to end off the night. The beautiful rainy sunset was a gorgeous, sad, but also fitting way to end off our water-bound adventures and prepare for our closing day starting tomorrow morning.
