Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
What’s up, everyone? It’s Bea, the skipper of the day! We started the morning off with a 6 am sail from Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda, to The Baths. As we all dragged ourselves out of our beds, hammocks, and sleepy sacks, our chefs of the day, Lulu and Max (our birthday boy!), brought out bagels, cream cheese, and yoghurt to fuel ourselves for the very exciting day ahead. After a quick dishy pit, Annika, our skipper from last year, picked us up to bring us to the beach near the Baths. We couldn’t go all the way with the dinghy, so we all backflipped or cannonballed off, which was the best! Once we swam to the beach, Siena took photos of us next to the rocks, and I chatted with two girls from last year. Finally, it was our time to make our way through the Baths. If you don’t know what the Baths are, they were created by aliens a loooooong time ago, and they are a bunch of caves with pools of water scattered around. At the very end of the Baths, there is a 20-foot cliff jump, which is the highlight of it all, although it’s hard to get to. There was a really slippery rock, but Xavi and Margo helped me so I wouldn’t slip. Jimena, Aliya, Margo, Zach, Max, and Jorge all did backflips, which were sooooo cool. Once we were at the jump, we wanted to go back, but the shortcut was blocked off, so we went the longer way, which was much longer. We ended up not having enough time to go through the Baths again, which was ok because we were all chatting to people from different boats! I saw some of my friends from Nomada Caribeña who are in the older Carina age group, and it was really nice to see them. A couple of kids from the rescue program came over to Max and sang happy birthday to him while splashing him, and at the end, he got dunked! Next, we made our way over to Spanish Town! We were given 2 hours to eat lunch and go to any grocery or clothing stores we wanted to. We all went to a restaurant that a bunch of other ActionQuest people were at, and we ordered virgin strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas. Jorge got a virgin mojito. While we were all figuring out how much we needed to pay, Jorge had asked the workers at the restaurant to bring pieces of cake for Max and Margo. We all sang for them, and it was really sweet. Our next priority was shopping!! We went to multiple grocery stores, stocking up on new snacks and getting cold drinks. After our time in Spanish Town, we headed to Vixon Bay, our spot for the night. We had our ocean showers and had dinner, which was beef stroganoff. Since I am the skipper, I asked everyone a question as part of the squeeze after dinner. It was: if you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would that be? I said Florida, but my favorite answers were when the facilitators said on a sailboat. Lastly, Jorge, Max, Zach, Loren, and I all headed to Nómada Caribeña for advanced sail chat. We came back to G2BH to warm brownies and tired faces because it’s now time for bed!!! Also, Raiden was a great friend and a great feminist today! Sending love to Mama, Papa, Oliver, Henry, and all my favorite people reading this! Goodnight everyone!
