Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
The day started out bright and early with a five AM downpour. Many people moved into the blue lagoon after getting wet sleeping outside. Alex and Thomas were mad that people got into their space. At one point, Yates started to mess around with Thomas, and Thomas was about to flip out. At seven AM, Emma played Turn My Swag On, by Soulja Boy around three times on repeat. Then we had a hardy breakfast made by the chef, Grace, while the sous Chef, Thomas, fell back asleep. Once we cleaned up breakfast, Toby led a dive chat about coral reef conservation. It was really cool learning about how to protect and respect reefs while diving.
We had a little time to chill before heading to Meow or Never to snorkel in the mangroves. There were many cool fish, and Otter found a barracuda. When we were finished, we dinghied at the beach and chilled on the paddleboards. Until we got picked up and went back to the boat for lunch. Emma made us really good grilled cheese. We chilled a bit after lunch until it was time to go back to the beach. Mary and Sloane did some water sports while the rest of us hung out some more on the paddle boards. Grace and Holden were playing a game on the paddle boards where one person stood on the board while the other one yanked them back, and they would fall off. It got so heated even Tony from Gap year tried it. Emma also had a pretty gnarly fall. While this was happening, Sultan got stung by some aquatic creature. We were having a blast in the water when it started pouring down rain and the air temperature got really cold. We got rescued from the beach in the dinghy.
We had our ocean shower and got changed into some comfy sweats because we were so cold. Then Emma and Grace made everyone hot chocolate to enjoy into our sail back to Mountain Point. When we finally got anchored, Chef Grace started making dinner with the help of Clara, Holden, and me: almost everyone but the sous chef, Thomas. For dinner, we had a yummy chicken Caesar salad with risotto and corn, and we planned our amazing prank on Aziza. We did squeeze and then cleaned up dinner. After dinner, we had a sail chat with Heloise, then followed up with the advanced sailors, plus Grace had another sail chat with Emma. Overall, today was a pretty chill day.
