Waking up at 6.30 for most could be seen as harsh and unsettling, but this morning at least for me, I woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the hull of the boat, and the light music coming from the speakers coaxing me back into reality. As the relaxing music played, it began to wake all the students aboard, We started off groggy but quickly woke up, put on our bathing suits, and began to eat breakfast. The most perfect morning to start the day! Today, the Neptune students, me included, hopped on a dingy and headed off to our first lecture of the day. The dingy ride was calming, and helped remove any sleepiness I had left. Once the lecture ended, we remained on “changes” and had some dingy driving classes. For once I was top of the class! We eventually went back to our boat “Slow Motion” and began our first daytime solo dive. The dive was amazing and there were squid, trumpet fish and so many parrot fish. Navigation wise we got a bit lost for a little bit but eventually found our way back to the boat. By then, it was time to dingy over to the beach and begin our beach games. The boys were flipping each other in the water, doing backflips in the air which compelled me to do the same, so I did. A few hours past and it was time to go back to the boat, to start our ocean showers. We all jumped in and had a blast, although a few were scared of the Jellyfish, they were harmless. We then got ready for the beach party! The beach was so beautiful and the people were so kind. We made friends, kindled old ones and remained happy throughout the whole party. Evan though it started to rain, the students embraced the water and maintained a happy attitude all throughout. Finally it was time to go back, change and get ready for bed. But before I go to bed, I need to set up my hammock under the stars, play the Ukulele, and only then can I sleep peacefully and redo the cycle all over again tomorrow.
