Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Today, we started off with some wonderful scrambled eggs and blueberry muffins made by Jasper and Mason, then headed to the beach to work on navigation. It was a beautiful beach, so we got to chill in the water for a few minutes before pulling out our compasses and showing off our new navigation skills. Afterward, we went on a hike through the island. It was a rough trail, with a very narrow path surrounded by thick brush and cacti, as we walked up and down intense hills in bathing suits and flip-flops. Lucy had an unfortunate incident with a root that ruined one of her shoes. When we got to the other side of the island, we had the freedom to walk around and explore the slippery rock formations and learned about how the windward to leeward sides affect how large the waves are. Reese and Katie decided to relax high on the rocks. After we’d gotten pictures by the water and thrown a few rocks in, we trekked back; Sean found a pet rock and a cactus fruit to snack on. When we got back to the boat for lunch, a large barracuda wanted to join us, so Mason tossed an apple in for it. After lunch, we went on a dive to try navigating in the water with various exercises. Will had to bring the shame chicken, and Malea and Reese ate a banana underwater. Afterward, the Dolphins got a preview of their project and a small lesson after a little downtime. Dinner was chili and rice, and Parker added and ate a huge amount of hot sauce on a bet for two cokes from Sean. It’s my birthday today, so when everyone finished dinner, there was a surprise cake for me followed by an intense dance party where Maya and Katie taught us the Wobble and Paloma taught a new dance.
