Location: Spanish Town
Hi guys! Today, we woke up at 6:30 and set sail for the Baths. The Baths are a bunch of rocks, but together, they make caves and places to jump into the water. It was super fun and possibly my favorite part of the trip so far. To enter the Baths, we had to swim all the way in. We saw all the other boats and got to meet the rest of camp. I haven’t seen my sister at the Baths or since we got here, but tonight we are anchored pretty close to her boat, so I can wave to her from here, and I’m looking forward to talking to her at the next barbecue. A lot of people got scratched up, climbing to the jumping rock, but it was all worth it once we got to it. We all experimented with shortcuts to get back to it, but many of the ways had barnacles that scratched us, and it was raining, so it was pretty slippery. Everyone did flip off of the rock, and Shawn did a dive before he knew we weren’t allowed. Mateo also had a great cannonball and jumped off the rock a bunch! Ethan and Max both got pinched by a crab but said it didn’t hurt very bad, and it was also kind of their fault for picking up the crab! The Baths were very fun, and I’m glad everyone had a great time. Today, we took our first real shower using our Hibicleans. It was very nice to finally take a shower inside. We all had a lot of fun with the ocean showers, but I think we were all excited not to be salty. Then, we sailed up to Spanish Town, got lunch, and walked around for a while. Matthew stubbed his toe, which looked pretty painful, and we all made a joke that a shark bit it off. While we were in town, Dylan got a speaker for the boat so we could listen at night when our boat speakers were too loud. We don’t go back into town until day 7, but we restocked all of our snacks, so we are all set. At 2:30, we sailed over to Mountain Point, where we are now, and made friendship bracelets on the way.
We also got into the water, which is so clear and pretty, and had a great time. There was a rope connecting us to the shore, and we tried to walk like tightropes. Lila, Camilla, Caitlyn, Piper, and I all were trying to stay on the rope while Max was shaking it underwater. It was very hard and made all of us fall off. Miers got a tan line from his fake tattoo, so now he has a big thing that says NO REGRETS across his chest. Tonight was chili night, and it was very good but very hard to clean up. Jake (one of the other councilors) also came to visit our boat for dinner. Where we are anchored is beautiful, and we saw some goats on top of the trees! Today has been super fun, and we did so many things! It was a great bonding day, and we are all getting to know each other a lot better. I’m so happy with our boat and can’t wait for the rest of the time we have together! Love you, Mom and Dad!!!!!
