Location: Marina Cay
Today was an eventful day. We woke up to our daily music playlist and ate a nutritional breakfast of fruit, yogurt, and cereal. Then the Vegas practiced sailing circles for a while. During all this sailing the other divemasters and I had a dive chat to discuss the last chapter of our divemaster review packet. The boat was a bit rocky from the Vegas, but we got through it. After all that tacking and jibing we needed to fill up with fresh water. We filled up by what seemed like a five-star resort, which made me temporarily think we were on a relaxing vacation. What snapped me out of it was I needed to do a long discussion about how well I think I am doing. Being a divemaster is hard work, but it’s rewarding. After the water filled up, we headed to Trellis Bay for shore time. It was nice to eat some BBQ chicken and talk to my mom while simultaneously petting a black cat. We spent two hours of chill time, then the real work began. We spent many hours cleaning/carrying away rubble from Hurricane Irma. It indeed wasn’t easy, but it was certainly worth it. It was nice to give back to an island that gave me so many memories last year.
