Today we had our first dives of the session. It was also the first rotation day which meant we were constantly moving from activity to activity. An example would be kneeboarding, which many people did for the first time today. There were a lot of “firsts” that happened today. In the morning, we had to get up very early, so we had enough time to eat breakfast before our dives, which were at 7:45. For the first dive, all the groups on my boat did the same check-out dive. We practiced multiple skills such as clearing a fully flooded mask and hovering. After that dive, the Barracudas, which included Mishka, Ada, Storm, and I split from the Carinas and Aquarius to do a boat dive while they did a Peak Performance Buoyancy dive. My group saw many interesting things such as a lobster, two lionfish, and an arrow crab. After the dives, we had to rush back to the boat to make sure we had enough time to eat lunch. When we finished lunch, we started watersports like kneeboarding and dinghy driving as well as windsurfing. While people were windsurfing the rest of us were swimming at the beach, waiting for our turn. When it was time to leave we headed back to the boat to take the first freshwater shower so far. We just finished dinner and are preparing to do to Lifeworks which I’ve never been to before. I’m interested to see what it is. Tomorrow we are going sailing and are going to sock in Spanishtown to get more fuel and water. I’m excited for what’s to come!
