Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
The motors revved up at 6:00 am today, heading from Savannah Bay to Baths National Park. By the time everyone was up and getting breakfast ready, we had arrived. We headed to the Baths in a dingy, and after a wet entry, we had 2 hours to explore this island full of giant round and beautifully weathered rocks, surrounded by the most cerulean water. We explored caves, enjoyed the currents, jumped off rocks, and felt like we were in a Luis Vuitton luggage ad.
After that, we headed on over to Spanish town. We got a freshwater shower (yay!) and disinfected ourselves with Hibiclens soap (hygiene is key here!). Once we arrived, we all received our phones to call/snap/text family and friends, but most importantly, wish our dads a Happy Father’s Day!!! We enjoyed a meal on shore and picked up gifts, brownie mix, and other stuff from the convenience stores.
We then sailed to Mountain Point! On that voyage, we had a little bit of downtime to journal and work on our dive studies, but not for long! We snorkeled at the dive site to get the lay of the land… or ocean… for our night dive tonight. We saw gorgeous corals, jellies, and small yellowfin tuna. We set up our dive gear, and after a quick dinner and musically chaotic clean-up, we are prepped to go on our very first night dive. Our counselors/instructors inform us it is a lot like what space must be like – we are all hyped!!!
