Location: White Bay, Peter Island
Today we left Tortola and sailed about an hour to White Bay. We had so much fun on the sail over because we all sat on the bow while waves would unexpectedly soak us… there were many laughs. Ben took a nap the whole way over. When we finally arrived at our destination and anchored, it was time to do our swim test. All of the students had fun on the swim, especially Scarlett and Maya. We then went on our first dive to refresh our skills with Gene and Griffin. Holden described the dive as “educational,” and Connor added that “we saw lots of wildlife”. I (Brooke) was paired with Aline, and we got to review lots of helpful skills. We then got out of the water, and the ocean showered for the first time. It was very fun getting to jump in and out of the water, soapy and sudsy. Next, we all had a sort of chill time where we all played card games and made friendship bracelets. Holden and Ben worked together to make dinner for our group, and we all enjoyed a nice meal together with an awesome view of the islands. Laragh, Charley, and Emily were on dishes duty but were able to make the most of it and have a fun time. Now we are all hanging out, listing to our group’s playlist (that we actually made today!) and waiting to go visit other groups on the other ships. Overall, today gave us an awesome taste of what the next two weeks are going to feel like!
