Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Happy Tuesday!! Today was an extremely exciting day as it was our first day ashore!!! We started our day off with an early wake-up call around 6 am to start sailing to our first stop of today, The Baths on Virgin Gorda!!! After waking up and grabbing our PFDs to start sailing, almost all of us went back to bed until we arrived at the baths. For breakfast we enjoyed yogurt with granola and bagels with cream cheese. After boating over to the Baths, we all arrived at an amazing place filled with crystal blue water and huge rocks. The group all followed Max to the “jumping rock” to jump off it. Along the way, we almost all had scratches and bruises from the slippery rocks, but it was all well worth the wait for the amazing view and such a fun jumping spot! We hung out around the bathes swimming around, jumping, and just hanging out with other boats for the next hour and a half. What a highlight going to the bathes was today!! We all then boated back to Avizia, and we were off to our next location of the day, Spanish Town!!!! We all changed into town clothes, Roman wearing his all white and black outfit, and finally docked at Spanish town! We all hopped off the boat and ran into town to get our first “real meal” of the trip! We all sat down at a local restaurant and ordered burgers, salad, chicken wings, and soda! We all eagerly awaited our food, but when it finally arrived, it was AMAZING. Emilia was the only one who ordered chicken wings, but she DEMOLISHED them with sauce all over the place. We all ate EVERYTHING, and there was basically nothing left. We paid our extensive bill, but Campbell handled all the money and counted it all up to pay. After an amazing lunch, we headed over to a local convenience store to pick up some necessities and snacks.
We all stocked up on cereal, chips, candy, chocolate, and sodas to help us with our travels. Roman went back into the convenience store for a second round of snacks and water. Peter, Andrew, Jackson, and Sadie were all craving ice cream and needed to leave others behind. We all headed to Yums Yums, a local ice cream and candy store! We all indulged in some awesome ice cream with flavors ranging from vanilla bean, strawberry, raspberry, and orange sorbet, which Jackson absolutely loved! As we were leaving, we had a couple of stragglers, such as Jackson Mitchell and Pete, who got lost along the way back to the boat. However, we all made it back to the boat safe and sound with sacks filled with goodies.
We then set sail for our final destination, Vixens Point, to dock for the night! We had an amazing sail over! Andrew, Roman, and Jackson raised our sail to enable us to start sailing! Peter, Jackson, and Roman all stepped up to the helm to drive the boat. Elsa, Sadie, Leonie, and Carly all painted their nails and toes while Campbell and Julia took a long fat nap on the top of the boat. We finally arrived at Vixens Point to dock and decided to raft up with another boat! Zoe really showcased her newly learned sailing skills when tying up to the other boat. We all took our ocean showers, hung out, and explored with the other boat while Jackson and Andrew cooked dinner! We all enjoyed an awesome dinner and did our “squeeze” to end the day. There were dishes and nighttime cleaning, listening to Taylor Swift to end our perfect day!
