Location: Passage to the BVI

Hello everyone! Today we woke up around 9 am for a good breakfast of cereal and muffins! Then it was time to start the practical sail training. For that, there were three teams. The first was Ari, Anno, and Claire, and the second one was Anda, Mary, and Jada. Then my team was Carolina and Ethan. For sail training, we each had to do three sail maneuvers—a Tack, a bear away, and a gybe. While the first person was on the helm, the other 2/ were in charge of trimming the main sails and the jib. In addition to the sailing triangle we had to do, each translated to do a Man Overboard drill. This consisted of Matty P throwing a fender overboard named Georgia, and then each team having to save her using a series of precise movements. It was pretty difficult, but it just goes to show how hard it would be to save someone in a real-life situation. It also served as a great reminder to always wear your PFD! In all, it took us around three or so hours to complete our sail training after which we pulled into a small anchorage off the coast of St. Barths. The little island was shaped like a horseshoe and was conveniently called Ile Forchue. Once arriving, Ari, Anno, Anda, and Ethan went for a little snorkel then we all got some rest and began getting ready for the last night’s passage to the BVI. After we were all ready, we put our main sail up and took off! We are very excited to all hangout tonight on our last passage! We can’t wait to make it back to the whole fleet and see everyone. Stay Tuned!
