Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

Hey everyone, it’s Catalina! This morning started quite calmly with a bit of rain. Our chefs, Tyler and Nate, put out some oatmeal for us as we were underway to Brewer’s Bay. Prior to our arrival at Brewer’s, we set up our gear for a fun dive at Shark Point. Jaden and I’s ears felt a lot better, so we were able to dive; Nathan, however, sat this one out to rest a little more. On the freezing dive, a few of us caught a glimpse of a stunning eagle ray, some cool fish, stellar coral, but sadly no sharks… While we waited for our compressor to pump our tanks, we girls tanned on the roof while the guys snacked downstairs. About an hour later, Siena took Huddy, Lordy, Eve, Alana, Wes, and Tate on Rango (our dinghy) for some water sports. As Tyler and Nate started our cheese and chicken quesadillas for lunch, I taught Lexi how to make a simple friendship bracelet while Parker read her summer reading book next to us.

Later, Jake showed up towing Rango with Siena and all of the people doing water sports in it since Rango broke down… again. Once everyone was back in Aloha, we enjoyed our lovely lunch. Following meal time, we got cleanup done very quickly: Parker and Lexi deckied, Jaden and Tate were salties (salt-water washers), Eve was the freshie (fresh-water washer), Wes as a drier, and Alana as the gopher. Lordy helped sweep and wipe the floor along with other surfaces while the rest of us set up our dive gear for our third search and recovery dive, in which we saw two sting rays while searching for a 5lb weight tied to a string using a Jackstay search pattern. After ending our dive, we motored to Cane Garden Bay to get more fresh water. While underway, Wes, Tate, and Jaden all took naps outside, whereas the rest of us watched an ongoing speedboat race through the window. At our arrival, Lordy, Nate, and I hooked the mooring ball, and then we all took salt-water showers before moving to the dock for the water and gas supply run. Soon after tediously moving from the dock back to the mooring ball, dinner was served. On today’s menu: Thai Curry! Followed by a movie night. After some post-movie chatting, we all went to bed as we had a nice long shore day tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!

I miss everyone back home and am really excited to call tomorrow!!
