Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

We started our day off today with a group study session, filling out our fish ID journals on the way to our first dive at Shark Planes. Once we were kitted up, we jumped into the sea and descended to 3 sunken planes made to look like sharks. We saw many fish living inside and around the planes. This being our first dive with our mate, Emma, she spotted the first turtle of our trip! Once we got back on the boat, a lot of us went back to our fish IDs, and the rest took a nap to get ready for our next dive of the day at The Chimneys. Here we got to test our buoyancy control while we went through a small hole in the walls surrounding us, and we all succeeded amazingly! During this second dive, we had to identify three examples of mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism as part of our neutral diver course. Although Mahe, Josie, and Emi got a bit distracted looking at flamingo tongue and ended up following another boat group with our instructor Perry and having to ascend them four. When we got back on board, everyone sat on the top of the boat and ended up all falling asleep during our return to Mountain Point. We all woke up about 2 hours later and had a chat about fish anatomy and species taxonomy. After we finished, we ate veggie burgers, mashed potatoes, and salad for our dinner, prepared by our chefs Emi and Sonja. We ended our day with listening and singing along to Hamilton, and a forum for us to get to know each other better.
