Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Hello, im Lily and im the skipper for today. Today was more of a chill day as we only really had diving as our main activity. We started off today well rested as we were able to sleep in until 8. When we woke up, we put away all of our sleep items and had cereal which was prepared by Cameron and Jaspar, the chefs. After breakfast, we set out on a 2-hour sail from Anegada to mountain point, which was really fun. Caitlin managed to sail the boat the whole way, which was pretty cool. On the way, Conrad, Sienna, Alexa, Adnan, Noah, Jiles, Arhan, and Jacob were all hiking on the high side of the boat, and Adnan discovered his love for a ponytail to keep the hair out of his face. While underway, we all had a sail talk about colregs which explains who has the right of way when sailing. Once we arrived at Mountain Point, it was around 11:30, so we decided to get lunch going. Lunch was grilled cheese sandwiches which were prepared by our chefs, with a special mention to Sienna for opening all the cheese packets. After lunch, everyone sat down to make bracelets, but they weren’t as easy as they looked, and most people ended up getting Amelia and Arden to tie them for us.
Straight after lunch, we were then picked up by a dingy and taken to second wind, another boat, where we had our first open water dive, where we went down to 24 feet (12 meters). It was amazing to see all of the different colored corals and sealife, and we managed to complete all of the skills that we needed to. By the time we had finished, time had flown by, and it was already 4:30 pm. We got back and straight away showered in the ocean. Alexa and Jasper both got stung by jellyfish but laughed about it. Once the showers had finished, we had a chicken Caesar salad with risotto which was really good, and then we had a squeeze and cleaned up. After dinner was put away, we then had to do our first two scuba diving quizzes; however, they weren’t as bad as everyone thought they were going to be, and everyone finished in quite high spirits. Now im writing the blog with the help of Caitlin, Jacob, and Adnan. Today was a good day.
