Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Today started off with “turn your swag on” blaring through the speakers at 7 in the morning and some delicious bagels with yogurt for breakfast. We then sailed over to our dive location for the day. Ruby took this opportunity to take one of her five naps of the day while the rest of us cranked out the reading in our rescue and navigation books, and Scarlett drove the boat. After finishing our work, we suited up and splashed at Blue Chromis for a beautiful dive where we were immediately greeted by some moon jellies and a spotted eagle ray. Lucy, Matthew, and I (Rachel) had a remora attach to our legs, which was a very weird feeling, and it decided to spend a few minutes swimming around each of us. Evan even spotted an upside-down lionfish. We did some skills at the surface and enjoyed some sandwiches for lunch before sailing over to Savannah Bay, while most of us played green glass door on the hard top. Upon arrival, we immediately hopped in the ocean, and Redden, Humphrey, Roman, and I decided to race each other around the boat, which resulted in us inhaling more water than air and giving up. The chefs, Madison and Scarlett, cooked up the classic alfredo with hot dogs while Roman, Humphrey, Redden, and I went wakeboarding and skiing. Madison and Dawson’s garlic bread was named the best of the summer, which apparently is a high honor. After our squeeze at dinner, we all huddled up in the salon, and Declan took some photos with questionable zoom, and then we got our very first rescue lecture!
