It was an early wake-up this morning as the thirteen of us managed to drag ourselves out of bed at around 6 to pack our bags, leave the hostel we were staying at, and head for the airport. We made a pit-stop in Brisbane while en route to the Whitsundays where we had lunch and waited to get on our last connecting flight to the islands. Once we arrived, we were greeted with a bus that took us to a marina where we met our captain Mal and his first mate, Andy. We got on his boat, the Eureka II and unloaded our various bags into our respective rooms and then congregated in the cockpit for a short safety briefing. Soon enough, we were underway and heading for our first destination in the Whitsundays, South Molle. We anchored, and Mal and Andy made us a fantastic dinner that exceeded all expectations I had about what our meals on the boat would be like. After dinner, we all stayed up for a bit and soon went to bed, exhausted after a long day of travel.
