Today we started the day like any other not yet knowing what this day had in store for us. At 8:30, we finished breakfast and put our anchors up and set our sails for a beach in Anegada. I was skipper today, so I was the first to start sailing for this long trip to the beach. It was like an elephant was pulling against the wheel when I tried to turn. We got faster, and steering was getting harder, and we were trying to race two other boats, and we were winning after a while, or so we thought the steering went out on our boat. We lost the race, but it was still the best day because I got to sail. It showed everyone how to work as a team and react quickly. This was an amazing adventure and memory, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
