Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today has been yet another successful day on Zourite. I can say without a doubt that this is the best boat I have had in my four years at AQ. We left Savannah Bay at 6:45 am and ate oatmeal as we motored over to the Baths- a destination we have been eagerly awaiting to explore since we set foot on the docks at West End. We spent a few hours there, taking photos and jumping off the rocks. We swam back to our dinghy. Only a short while later, we made it to Spanishtown to fuel, get groceries, and eat. We departed around 3 for a sail to Vixen Point, where we rafted with the other monohulls. Upon arrival at the bay, Jake told us to take the reins. We were to motor in and moor without any help. I was nervous as I have never been at the helm of a monohull of this size. We did a fantastic job, and we’re very proud of our teamwork! After Jan, Boyd and Justin went with Emelia to the beach to dig holes for anchors for the raft. The rest of us hung out, and I took Justin’s place in the galley with Austin to make beef stroganoff, which turned out delicious. Now we are cleaning up and preparing for tonight’s lecture. I’m very excited to see what the rest of this voyage will hold for a group as tight as we are.
