Hi families! It’s Hanna writing today. This morning, for breakfast, we dove into blueberry muffins and scrambled eggs, along with some fruit. Then, everyone got ready to head to the beach to practice using our dive compasses on land. It started pouring rain, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. We also took part in some sand wrestling and chicken fights in the water. While at the beach, we also had the opportunity to converse with other boats. After we got back to the boat, everyone got their dive kits ready for our in-water navigation practice. Everyone buddied up, and for the first time, our descents and ascents were on our own. Each buddy pair met the instructors at the bottom of the for some practice with navigation without an instructor. Most pairs had extra time to swim around the ocean floor on their own. Hanna and Aria dominated the skills and finished first. After today’s dive, we headed back to the boat for some time for water sports and knot tying. Brie, Charley, Cahan, Kellen, Henry, and Hanna went on the dinghy to do some knee boarding. Everyone successfully learned the proper knots with Meghan’s help. Meghan then brought her teaching skills to the water and taught almost everyone how to do a backflip off the boat! Afterward, we went over our night diver knowledge reviews, and then everyone ocean showered. For dinner, we had chili and rice and finished the night off with Lifeworks (a boat bonding activity). Everyone had a great time today despite the clouds and rain in the morning. Miss you, Mom, Dad, Libby, Minnie, and Franklin!
