Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Day 2 started with an early rise, led by a hearty cereal breakfast. The crew went ashore to Omar’s Fusion, where we had an ActionQuest meeting led by Mike M. We talked about the do’s and don’ts of life aboard and offshore during our adventure. We then had our first sailing lesson with the basics and sailed to Peter Island, where Parker and I took turns steering us in the right direction. A little bit of rain didn’t stop Lucy, Malea, and Paloma from their mid-day nap. We listened to everyone’s chosen music to vibe to along the way, along with some deli sandwiches. Peter Island was where we began our swim test of 6 laps around the ship, where absolute units Parker, Katie, and Megan were lapping the rest of us. After that we started our Refresher Dive, where Kyler led the boys, with buddies Sean, Will, and I together and Parker and Mason together. Cara led the girls. We went over basic diving skills, such as partially flooded masks and reg retrieval. Everyone breezed through this, and we even got to see a Remora, the fish that is often seen attached to sharks or turtles for protection and food. After all that, we had dinner prepared by Will and Maya with some assistance from Other Will, our Skipper. It was Sloppy Joe’s with corn, salad, and mashed potatoes. And just in time, Reese, our late arrival, hopped on board. As I’m writing this, we are about to take a dinghy over to another AQ ship for a Scuba Review Quiz.
