Location: The Bight, Norman Island
The trip may almost be over, but that doesn’t mean the adventure has stopped for the Wind Shadow crew. Starting at Great Harbor, we motored over to Salt Island for our final dive at the Rhone. But before we could go on the dive, we had to take our sailing exams. Each shipmate got some studying crammed in on the ride over, and we each powered through the exams with high hopes of passing scores. Finally, we got done with the tests and dinghied over to Tropical Oasis to gear up for the dive. My family even surprised me by flying down to dive the Rhone with me! Each of us got to experience this last incredible dive even though some of us weren’t feeling great. It was by far the most incredible dive yet, and we saw so many cool things including sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and eagle rays. Then we ate lunch and prepared for a hike to the top of Salt Island, where we got an incredible view and paid our respects to those who perished in the wrecks we had just witnessed. Coming back to the boat we knew we had some cleaning to do, so we got that done, pulled up the anchor, and started making our way to Norman Island where we started our sailing adventure on day 2. It’s been an incredible trip, and while we are all very excited to go home to friends and family, we are going to sorely miss all the fun we’ve had here with our new friends and beautiful scenery. With love from the BVI, Wind Shadow.
