Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola

We woke up and moved to Mountain Point, where we had scrumptious scrambled eggs and muffins for breakfast. We then prepped our dive gear and went on our first research dive, which we had been preparing for during the past few days. Before getting into the water, we made sure that our groups had done their buddy checks thoroughly and that our dive plan was good. My group: Megan, Lizzie, and Daisy, were trying to determine if the repeated disturbance of feather dusters affected the time that they were closed. We are excited to continue our research in future dives. As we were making our way back to the boat at the end of the dive, I found an Octopus hidden in between rocks! We saw many things, but out of them all, I found the Octopus extremely amusing. After our dive, we had vegetable soup for lunch and then got mentally prepared for our first dissection: The Dog Fish (aka the Shark). I enjoyed watching everyone dissect, and I took many pictures of the event. Fun Fact: The Dog Fish has an underbite, so it can hunt from above its prey. Everyone seemed to find it very interesting, and we all learned new things about sharks that we didn’t know before. Later on, we have a BBQ going on at the beach, and I’m so excited to eat burgers again! 🤞
Also, please say hi to Pippa and Lola from me, Mum and Dad, love you both very much.
