Location: The Dogs
Today was one of the best days yet! We had an early start to the day, waking up at 6:30 to Garry’s tunes. We had cereal today for breakfast and then started our sail to a spot called “The Dogs.” We moored there at a mooring ball and then hopped in the super dingy to go to the dive boat. We all went super fast in the dingy, and Charlie almost fell off four times. Once at the dive boat, we got all geared up and did our briefings before completing our first open water dive. We were all pretty nervous before the dive, but it ended up being amazing. Once in the water, we practiced some practical skills and then swam around and explored. We went to a depth of around 30 feet for about 30 minutes. Then, we had some time to chill before completing our second open water dive. In the second dive, we completed a few other practical skills before exploring the underwater world even more. Skills included practicing out-of-air situations and clearing fully flooded masks. Swimming around was so cool and beautiful. We saw lots of different colorful fish, coral, and even a barracuda. Lilly and I also saw a nursing shark sleeping under a wave of coral surrounded by a school of bright yellow fish watching up swim! It was so cool and such an amazing experience.
After our dives, we all de-kitted and then motored back to our boat for mac and cheese. After lunch, we hung out on the anchored boat for a few hours. Sam and I laid in the sun while others swam around the boat, read, and took pictures. The views were so pretty, and the water was so clear! After that, we unfurled our jib and motored to Marina Cay. We picked up some fresh water and then anchored with the rest of the Action Quest fleet. We showered in the ocean and then ate tortellini and salad for dinner with our dinner guests. Then, we squeezed and had our LifeWorks chat. We all had such a good day, and we’re excited to see what tomorrow brings!
