Location: The Bight, Norman Island

Today we had a different morning than usual. We woke up to the rocking of the boat as we sailed to the Rhone, a shipwreck near Salt Island. Some of us were a little seasick, but it was better after we went outside. Once we got to Salt Island, we dinghied over to our dive boat, Second Wind, to do our shipwreck dive! They all reminded us that it is Christmas in July today, so we set up our dive gear while listening to Christmas music. We also learned about the history of the Rhone. Mackenzie told us that after the ship sunk, the people of Salt Island saved some of the crew, and so Queen Elizabeth apparently said that Salt Island did not have to pay taxes anymore. My dive group was Ellery, William, Peyton, Zander, and Oscar, and we saw triggerfish, barracuda, and so many more cool fish. After our dive, we were all super excited to take our sailing exam, which we all hopefully passed… Then, we hiked salt island with one of our many rival boats, Friendship. After the hike, we took our last ocean showers, which was bittersweet, followed by a game of tag played by Tatum, Georgina, Bear, William, Teddy, and Finn. Next, we sailed in the rain to Norman Island and made a dinner of cheddar broccoli soup as a group because our chefs had decided to quit. Now, we are getting ready to write our cards to each other, which is a tradition at AQ. We are all super sad that the trip is coming to an end, but we still have tomorrow, which is our final race day!!
