The day started for me (Kennedy) when Katy and Pearl barged into our room at 2 am, waking me up in a panic. This is normal for me at this point since I go to sleep at eight every night, and they decide to stay up all night and take a midnight venture back into the room. We all fell back asleep after I screamed at them for waking me up. The late morning started with the usual cringy music that mike plays to irritate us. We ate oatmeal for breakfast, which was prepared by Liliana and Dawson. After I was done eating, I went down to greet Amaya, who is reading per usual. Today was “chaos” day, which is when all the kids are on the same two boats, and we do rotations between diving, testing, skiing, and paddle boarding. For the first block, all the girls were tanning and reading, but since my attention span was no more than 2 seconds after being on the same page for 10 minutes, I decided to go into the water. Then, all of Avizia was called to the dive boat, where we divided into groups. Advanced did their first dive after getting their advanced certification, and as a reward, they just frolicked around and got to take off their fins to mess around. My group (Pearl, Suki, and I) did a few skills and then swam around for a while. While performing our safety stop, Whitney taught Suki how to do bubble rings while Pearl and I did backflips. Once we ascended and got back onto the boat we were officially open water scuba certified!!!

Holden claims he is basically a hero because, on his dive, he had to do an emergency shared air ascent with his instructor. “I saved her life” – Holdon. When Dawson was on his way to put away his gear, he fell into the net, was turtled, and required help from the director. Now, the toe that he stubbed is purple and swollen. On Liliana’s and Andrew’s dive, they saw many sting rays and lobsters, which fascinated them. There was a lost scuba mask that they found and retrieved. After all the dives were done we headed back to the boats Shamwari and Odyssey where we all chilled and hung out with other kids and did our rotations.

Jovian kept doing penguin dives over and over for some reason. Cam, Andrew, and Gavin all went on the dingy and went wakeboarding and knee boarding. Mike went back to our boat to prepare quesadillas, so when we got back, we all ate the very delicious food. Holden was diving separately, so when he got back, he attempted to get onto the boat but sadly missed it and fell into the water. After lunch, we all took saltwater showers so we could wash our hair before we took hibiclense showers. We set sail to fill up our tanks and take out our trash. Once we docked, we started dinner, and the rest of us chilled, read, and made bracelets. We ate and then did the squeeze of the day: “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?”. Then we did our squeeze and action of the day: squeeze and smile. After dinner, we did sail chat, went over sail terminology for the exam, and ate brownies. We are all looking forward to the 6-mile hike tomorrow 🥲.

– Kennedy (P.S. Mom and Dad can’t wait to talk to you tomorrow, and I do more than just lay around and read.)
