Boat Olympics
We started today off with a very early awakening to set sail for our next destination, the boat Olympics. Thankfully, the counselors gave us some much-needed extra sleep, and we used up every last second of it. In addition to those precious hours of snoozing, we got to eat absolutely delicious French toast made by Lucy and Antara. While arriving at Anegada, but had to get ready very quickly. By the time we got to the next island, our counselors got us totally hyped up for the camp Olympics with super awesome music and a plan for our super awesome battle chant. We all clumsily hopped into our dinghy and sped away towards the beach. We built sand castles and had a great time turning Sofia into a sand mermaid while we waited for the other boats to arrive. We kicked off the games with a tug of war, which we, unfortunately, lost, although we were definitely at a size disadvantage. Next, we did a fender rodeo where each person had to try to balance on top of a float without taking a tumble into the water. Several other games went on, including chicken fights and attempting to knock each other off of paddle boards with pool noodles. It was an amazing time, and we all got to interact with members of the other boats.

We soon boarded our boat again and enjoyed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (we snuck a little bit of Nutella with them, too). We also tried to capture jellyfish with buckets off the side of the boat. Later, we set sail for Vixen Point and had fun playing cards, taking naps, and eating a ton of snacks. Our counselor, Nat, soon gave each of us sailing lessons on gybing, tacking, and steering at the helm. Lucy and Antara fixed us a great meal of veggie burgers and mashed potatoes. It was still quite yummy, even though they dumped half the salt grinder into the potatoes. We had to take super fast ocean showers and everyone’s hair is currently super crusty, but we are used to it at this point. We have also just completed our last dive chat before the final exam, one step closer to the certification. I can’t wait for a rotation day tomorrow !!!! Hello, Mom and dad miss you guys and Rosie, Webb, and Ellerbe.
