Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
After eating breakfast this morning, we got on the dinghy and headed to the first rotation. The first rotation was hiking. To get to the starting point of the hike, you had to get to this dock that had a bunch of rocks around it. At first, the hike is really steep, but it starts to flatten out once we get to the first lookout point. It was just this flat rock opening, on the side of the mountain, and if you walked up to the edge, you could see everything. After that we started hiking up again the next look up point wasn’t as cool but it was a lot higher it was one more look out point but this one wasn’t very big and you couldn’t really see out that much For the last little bit of that rotation, we went to another boat to do the boom swing, but it wasn’t set up, so we kind of just swam and sat on the boat. Our next rotation was waterskiing. I was on a boat with Levi and Liam. I knee boarded and so did Liam, but Levi was able to get up on the slalom ski, which was really cool. Aden was a driver, but he never brings his phone on the boat so we can listen to music. We thought this came from another boat.
How to do a 360 on the knee board, that was cool. After that, we had open water diving. My group was Henry, Leo, and Luke, with our instructor. We worked on a few skills, but we also swam around this reef 🪸. There was this cool Spotted grouper down there. After that, we had lunch, which was like the soup. It was pretty good. In our last two rotations, we kind of just learned about the ship’s systems and navigation with Margaret, and then practiced tying knots. Margaret was really nice and sat down with me for a while today and helped me really get down all of my knots for our exam in a couple of days. Then we had the barbecue I was with Liam, Jack, Henry and Austin. We had burgers and hotdogs and they had like this pineapple juice that I thought was pretty good after we ate we played a big game of football on the beach with a bunch of other kids I threw a Hail Mary to Liam and he caught it for a touchdown. When we came back to the boat for showers, we saw these two giant tarpon feeding under the boat next to us. That’s really all that happened today.
