Title: The Baths and First Land Dock
The crew woke up in Mt. Point and set sail to the baths at the Virgin Gorda around 6 am. Last night there was a wicked thunderstorm that came by and woke some people up with loud thunder. All is good, though, Mom 😉. It took one hour to get to the baths. August and Annika cooked us up breakfast, which was bagels with this delicious cinnamon sugar butter, and we had the choice of vanilla or peach yogurt on the side. Once we moored at the Baths, the whole Graytful crew dinghied over to the beach and started our somewhat rock climb through the caves. Milo took the risk of climbing up this one slippery rock and got two scuffed-up knees(they took it like a trooper, and all is good)but still did a cool jump off the rock. Then we dinghied back to the boat. For lunch, we sailed over to a Spanish town and had lunch together at a small little roadside restaurant. Macy got a burger that had uncooked bacon…, but the people at the restaurant were very friendly, and they dropped the prices for AQ kids. We walked around Spanish Town, and everyone had the task of buying a candy they liked for the candy salad we’re making tonight!! Micah bought a kite at this small ice cream shack on the side of the road. He tried to fly it later in the day, but it ended up completely failing, sadly. We set sail back to Mt. Point so that the DMC (dive master candidates) could lead their first dive. Scott saw many tarpons (Dad, you’d love the fishing here) on his dive. Once they got their 30-minute dive in, the Vega group watched their PADI video, in which we learned about logging dives and no-stop limits with diving. Then, we set sail to Vixon Point. Kiki and I took a sweet nap on the trampoline on the ride over.
August got started on our beef stroganoff, which was amazing. Ty, Amelia, and Alexis spent most of the afternoon studying their DMC stuff. Scott also has been working very hard. I feel like I’m back in school, hearing them talk about their study plan. We got some house music going for our dinner because that is our boat’s current fixation music. After dinner everyone did their salt water showers. Also, today was our Hibiclens shower, and it was our first time doing a full fresh water shower, which I appreciated a lot. Now we’re all just hanging out, probably going to play some card games like BS or spoons and eat our candy salad. Good night y’all!!
Miss and love you, Mom, Dad, Kaelyn, and Duke, of course. (Also, Mom, can you send some of the pictures to Mrs. Denise and Anderson?) Love you guys.
