Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
This morning Cobrin, Louella, and I had to wake up early and go into the saloon from our hammocks to finish our rest because we were underway to a different point of anchorage. I woke up the second time after falling back asleep to a camera flash in my face, and I was not too happy after that. Evan and Micah had oatmeal and hot water sat out, so we had a quick breakfast before we started our first activity of the day: DIVING! On the dive, we completed activities to improve our PADI skills. My favorite activity was swimming through a stationary hula hoop and only adjusting buoyancy with breaths in and out. It was funny to see Daniel get his tank get stuck on the top. After our dive, we had paddle boarding, and we messed around.
Violet drifted far away from the boat and had a lengthy paddle into the current to get back. Then we had Dinghy and Rodeo and worked on our dock lines and safety knots as teams. Matthew, Blake, Violet, Brendan, Cobrin, and I won both knot competitions. Scarlett was super proud of her clove hitch she learned. Cobrin and I were testing the strength of our knots, and he was leaning off the boat with a bowline around his waist with me holding the tag end, and it “slipped out of my hand,” and he fell into the water. After that, we had a quick lunch and went straight to water sports. Everyone was having a great time wiping out and getting up for the first time. Scarlett was the designated videographer the whole time and got some awesome clips. It was chili night, and the chefs cooked it up perfectly, and it was amazing. All in all, it was a good first rotation day, and were super excited for the Baths tomorrow!
