Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today felt like a full week, with some of us starting the day with a 12 am wake-up for our night sail. We sailed throughout the night, with Scarlett, Roman, and Celeste taking the unfortunate 3-6 am shift. Peyton, Orly, and Evan sailed us home to the BVI’s around 9 am, ending the 18-hour sail. After a late breakfast of oatmeal, we hung out and got ready for Spanish town. We spent ages waiting for Frenchie but finally decided to ditch them. As soon as we got to Spanish town, we all ran to the alleged best chicken place in the BVIs, according to Scarlett. We waited on the sketchy green patio for 2 hours and began to doubt we would ever eat. Just as all hope was lost, the waitress brought out a platter of delicious, fresh fryer fried chicken. In typical Different Drummer fashion, we scarfed down all the food in about 5 minutes. Scarlett then snuck off and bought a little bunny jellycat we named Lil Bongo after our dinghy. Back on the boat, we prepared to do some sail training. We started with some man overboard drills using a fender we named Mighty Mike Meighan. It was pretty fun, actually, with most of us taking the helm. After we finished with that, we sailed back to Great Harbor Peter to join the rest of the Action Quest Fleet. We ended the day with a delicious feast of breakfast for dinner prepared by the whole boat while we had a dance party.
XOXO, Sadie
