Another day in paradise!!🌴🌊🌺🌞
The first thing that happened today is that we drafted with a Pirate song and went underway to our new location. It was super early, and we were woken up by music ABSOLUTELY BLASTING from the speakers, as per usual. Interestingly, it was “California Girls” by Katy Perry this morning and not one of Joey’s reggae songs. I was so surprised about the change of song that i woke up instantly. Maybe it was Grace who was the one to choose the music this time (??). Then, while half of us were still not completely awake, we ate cereal for breakfast and then cleaned up after💤🥣🎶
Today is “Chaos Day,” as said by our teachers. It’s where we go on this one mega raft (Oryx + Nomada) and do whatever activities we want. From zesting, waterskiing, paddleboarding, or just generally swimming, there were options for everyone. Izzy, Mengmei, Oon, and I went zesting first. The wind was extremely nice and I’m happy to report that we didn’t capsize, not even once!! Sophia went waterskiing, and she said it was AWESOME. Blake went paddleboarding with his new friends from Pirate Song, which looks like so much fun from what I’ve seen. Breccan, Brian, and Pierce chilled in the boat and played speed to kill time, and also went swimming after that. Sophie, Malika, and Emme enjoyed paddleboarding. ⛵️🏊♂️⚓️
After 2, 3, or 4 long hours (I actually don’t know, I don’t have a watch), we went back to HOPE (finally). One good thing about not owning a watch: I didn’t develop a watch tan. Brian’s and Izzy’s wrists are probably two colors by now. The moment we arrived, we quickly set up our tanks and jumped into the crystal-clear water. This was a fun dive for everyone except me and Oon. We had to do one of our specialties: fish ID. During this amazing dive, Oon, Izzy, Brian, Sophia, Emme, and I saw a gigantic lionfish. Cool. 🤿🫧🐠
Then, finally, it was lunch time. Today’s menu was the mouthwatering Cheese and chicken quesadilla. All of the food disappeared within 5 minutes. Yum. To be fair, everyone was probably very hungry from spending their energy on the dive. 🍴😋
Next, we sailed towards Cane Garden Bay, where we will be spending most of tomorrow. During that, all of us took a clean shower in our heads (bathroom). Izzy, Malika, and I helped throw the lines when we docked to get some more water. When we arrived, Grace and the chefs (Mengmei & Pierce) started dinner, which was pesto pasta with chicken, and Sophie & Malika helped make the delicious garlic bread. Of course, we cleaned up after that. Although there was one incident, Blake dropped a bowl and a fork into the ocean. Oops. 🚿🪢🍝
We ended the day with an amazing sunset and hanging out together, playing speed and bonding. Overall, another amazing day in the BVI.
Message to parents: We miss you very much, and we are getting our phone back tomorrow. Will def call!! 💗
