Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
We started the day with an early wake-up, as per usual, and then enjoyed oatmeal and cereal for breakfast. The first stop in our rotation day was Zesting; sailing small boats around in buddy pairs. Our Zesting adventure featured many capsizes, but was still much fun. After returning to the boat we went out waterskiing, wakeboarding, and kneeboarding, and it was slightly tricky due to the constant gusts of wind and waves. We then enjoyed a delicious grilled cheese lunch along with some ice cold Gatorade and water. After we returned to the sea for a 45-minute scuba diving session where we learned many helpful skills like swimming underwater without a mask and five-point descent. We then were taught an engaging lesson about navigation. We learned about longitude and latitude and how to determine your current position without the use of GPS. We returned back to our boat and showered. The chefs of the day, Grey and Ellie, prepared veggie burgers for the crew. We all sat down and enjoyed our food while looking out onto the crystal clear water. We then gathered together below deck and had a scuba chat to move us one step forward to our open water diver scuba certification. We then went to bed and got a good night’s sleep to prepare for the next day.
